Dr. Jacalyn Blackwell-White

Having decided in second grade to become a pediatrician, Jacalyn Cecelia Blackwell-White is a Baltimore native who graduated from Western High School. She received a BA in psychology from the George Washington University, Washington, DC, followed by a Masters degree in psychology from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, TN. At a crossroads in her career, Dr. Blackwell-White returned to her childhood dream and attended the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA, from which she graduated in 1984. The next three years were spent in pediatric residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA. In 1987, Dr. Blackwell-White returned to Baltimore with her family to work at Park West Medical Center~n 1990, she started her own pediatric practice. While waiting for her own patient numbers to increase, Dr. Blackwell-White worked at Total Health Care, the Baltimore County Health Department and Sinai Hospital of Baltimore emergency department.

Dr. Blackwell-White and her associates, Dr. Cheryl Parks and Nurse Practitioner Barnitta Moses understand the importance of education and knowledge. Medical students, pediatric residents and nurse practitioners in training are regularly invited to do externships at this office.

Dr. Blackwell-White is blessed to have her husband, Clifton White, take care of the administrative side of the office practice. Together they are the proud parents of attorney, Major Candace White Halverson, reserve officer in the US Army JAG Corps, and, veterinarian, Dr. Ayrika White Mfoudi, DVM. The Whites are also 'Pop Pop and Riri', the happy and indulgent grandparents of Spencer and Cecelia Halverson as well as of Frederick and Benjamin Mfoudi.
